An eight-year-old German shepherd named Wang Wang works as a sniffer dog at a security checkpoint in Xichuan, Henan Province, central China.
He will leave his agency in June 2019 after retiring and finding a permanent home where he may spend the rest of his days.
Last month, a policeman who had served as Matan Wangwang’s manager made the choice to surprise the dog by paying him a visit while on patrol near Wangwang’s house.
In a recent video posted on the Xichuan police Douyin account, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, Wang Wang is being approached by officers.
Hearing the agent’s summons, Wang Wang hastened out the front door and into the old agent’s arms.
Wang Wang licked the legs of his former owner as he sobbed by his side.
The entire time the patrol was returning to their van, Wang Wang followed his manager.
In the message, it was written, “Wang Wang’s hair greyed, but he was full and plump.” Saying goodbye to friends is never simple.
As soon as they witnessed the touching reunion of the faithful dog and the dog trainer, internet viewers’ hearts started to melt.
One person commented, “Dogs are faithful friends, treat them right!”
Someone else said, “You can tell Wangwang misses his handler.”
Many people questioned why Wang Wang and his agency couldn’t be together after the heartfelt reconciliation.
Police in Xichuan replied, “Police dogs are typically fed at the training center, but our officers cannot spend their time playing or exercising with retired dogs.”
They’ll be better cared for at home than in a training center, in my opinion.
