Three Decades of Love: Marking Our 32nd Wedding Anniversary with Gratitude

On their 32nd wedding anniversary, Magic Johnson told his wife Cookie, “I will always honor and support you.”

Magic and Cookie Johnson are honoring a “very special anniversary” today.

The 64-year-old NBA great commemorated the milestone with a moving Instagram post on Thursday.

With the remark, “Today and for many years to come, I celebrate my wife of 32 years, Cookie Johnson on this very special anniversary,” Magic shared a clip of adorable photographs of the couple through the years.

“So they are no longer two, but one flesh,’ says Matthew 19:6,” Magic went on. I’m glad that our love has lasted the test of time because “what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

“I appreciate your everlasting love and encouragement you give me each and every day,” the former Lakers player wrote to his wife.

Magic continued, saying that Cookie’s “love for Christ, dedication to our family, and heart” motivate him to “be the best man I can be.”

Magic ended his caption by promising to “honor and support you in any way I can, now and forever.” “Happy Anniversary!”

Magic and Cookie began dating intermittently in 1978, when they both attended Michigan State University. On September 14, 1999, they tied the knot in a small ceremony in Magic’s hometown of Lansing, Michigan.

“The reason I live today and the reason I work as hard today is for my wife and family,” Magic told PEOPLE in 2016.

The pair took their annual extravagant European cruise this past summer. After the trip, Magic gushed, “This has been one of our best vacations because of the staff, chefs, and the yacht.” “It’s been an amazing half a year!”

On July 5, when Magic and Cookie were in Antibes, France, they ate at a restaurant called Michelangelo and began writing about their travels.

They had Michael Jordan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Judge Greg Mathis on their yacht with them this summer.

We had a fantastic meal at the Da Paolino Ristorante, often known as the “lemon tree restaurant,” in Capri, Italy tonight. Johnson’s letter dated July 12th. And I got to hang out with Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette, Sam and LaTanya Jackson, Judge Greg and Linda Mathis, John and Vicki Palmer, and a whole bunch of other famous people.

Magic thanked everyone that came on their 2023 vacation with them on August 5: “Cookie and I want to thank all of our friends that joined us!” We had many laughs, stimulating conversations, and delicious fare. Now that we have some alone time, I plan to spend the next week dating, enjoying each other, and watching a lot of movies with my significant other.

The couple’s European vacation concluded with a few relaxing days in Croatia. Magic wrote that he and Cookie “shared a beautiful night in Dubrovnik, Croatia” at the Nautika Restaurant, according to a post they made to Instagram.

Magic captioned a series of adorable images with his wife on Instagram, writing, “The view was spectacular and the food was amazing.”

Magic claimed that the Nautika Restaurant had “amazing” dinners and was “right behind” Fort Lovrijenac, “where Game of Thrones was filmed!”

They spent “a beautiful week” together, Magic said, “hаnging out, dating, reminiscing, and watching Special Ops: Lioness with Zoe Saldana, Hijаck with Idris Elba, and other TV shows and movies.”
